Omar Abdullah expresses grief over Kathua Landslide Disaster, directs instant relief operations

Kathua 17th August :- Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has deplored the unfortunate loss of lives and extensive damage due to landslides in several of areas across District Kathua, such as Jodh Khad and Juthana. The tragedy resulted in four deaths and left many others injured, requiring immediate rescue and relief efforts.

Posted on X from the official account of Jammu and Kashmir’s Office of the Chief Minister, Abdullah expressed his sincere sympathies to the families of the deceased and wished speedy recovery to the injured. He also promised that the administration would provide all required help to affected citizens.

The Chief Minister has ordered the local administration to focus on providing immediate relief, rescue, and evacuation to ensure the safety and well-being of the affected families.The authorities have been directed to evaluate the damage and provide critical aid, including medical attention and shelter, to the displaced population. The landslides, which were caused by the rains, have destroyed a huge amount of property in the area, and urgent action needs to be taken to reduce the risk further.

The government is coordinating closely with rescue teams to tackle the situation and bring things back to normal in the affected area.
