Udhampur 25 August :- Inner Wheel Club Gurdaspur organized a multi-faceted program in Gurdaspur, which included the official visit of District President Priti Khajuria, establishment of new executive team 2025–26 and celebration of Teej festivalThe program started with a social project, Preeti Khajuria visited an orphanage/juvenile home along with club members and donated an amount of Rs.11,000.After this, an executive meeting was held following all the protocols of the club in which Preeti Khajuria evaluated the social work done by the club, after which the new executive team of the year 2025-26 was installed by District President Preeti Khajuria.
On this occasion, Preeti Khajuria shared her and Association President Jyoti Mahipal’s vision and mission with , which focuses on social service and women empowerment. She told that every year on 1st July, 27 district chairmen of Inner Wheel in India are given a new vision and theme on which every district chairman has to get social work done.
This year’s association president Jyoti Mahipal, who is from Kolkata, promoted social work through projects under the following categories such as, youth development, environment, child rights, status of women, old age, family welfare, water and sanitation, drugs. Preeti Khajuria said that we are a part of the society and we also have to contribute in our duties towards the society.
Congratulating the new club president Sonia ji, she said that she should go ahead and set an example that she can work in a better way. Now it is also her responsibility to take the club’s social work forward rapidly and try to benefit as many people as possible because she still has a whole year ahead of her.At the end of the program, the club celebrated the traditional Teej festival with great enthusiasm. During this, women performed dances and songs on swinging tunes, and games and competitions related to Teej were also organized.
Many surprise gifts were also distributed during the celebration.The event was aimed at promoting social service, women solidarity and cultural heritage. All the members were present on the occasion and Preeti Khajuria thanked the members for grand welcome.
