Northern Command Salutes Bravehearts Martyred in Doda Road Accident

UDHAMPUR, January 22, 2026 — The Indian Army’s Northern Command has officially expressed its profound grief and solidarity following the tragic vehicle accident in Doda that claimed the lives of ten soldiers.

Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Northern Command, joined all ranks in saluting the “Bravehearts” for their supreme sacrifice while performing their duties in challenging conditions.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Northern Command fraternity extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased personnel, stating that the entire military community stands in firm solidarity with the bereaved during this time of immense sorrow.

Furthermore, the command leadership conveyed its best wishes for the speedy recovery of the soldiers who sustained injuries in the accident and are currently undergoing medical treatment.

The incident occurred when a troop-carrying vehicle navigated treacherous terrain and bad weather before plunging into a deep gorge.
