North East Statehood Day 2024: Lt Gen RC Tiwari Greets Tripura, Meghalaya, and Manipur

KOLKATA, January 21, 2026:-On the auspicious occasion of the 54th Statehood Day of Tripura, Meghalaya, and Manipur, Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, the Army Commander of the Eastern Command, extended his heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the people of the three Northeast states.

Highlighting the rich cultural heritage and the vibrant history of these regions, the Army Commander emphasized the deep-rooted and enduring bond shared between the Indian Army and the local communities.

This celebration marks over five decades since the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act of 1971 granted full statehood to these territories, and Lt Gen Tiwari’s message serves as a testament to the continued synergy and mutual respect that define the relationship between the armed forces and the citizens of the Northeast.
