No Fuel Shortage in Ladakh: LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Assures Residents of Adequate LPG and Petrol Stocks

LEH, March 28, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has issued a reassuring statement to the public following a high-level national review meeting chaired by the Prime Minister.

Addressing concerns regarding the current global geopolitical scenario, the LG confirmed that there is absolutely no shortage of LPG, petrol, or diesel within the Union Territory. He emphasized that the administration has secured a robust supply chain, and there is no reason for citizens to engage in panic buying.

The meeting, which included Governors, Lieutenant Governors, and Chief Ministers from across the country, served to verify national preparedness and ensure that essential energy reserves remain stable and accessible to all regions.

To maintain this stability, LG Saxena stated that he is personally monitoring the distribution of all essential commodities to prevent any localized disruptions.

The Chief Secretary of Ladakh remains in constant communication with major Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and local distributors to guarantee that supplies continue to flow seamlessly across the challenging terrain of the region.

This proactive coordination aims to provide peace of mind to the residents of Ladakh, ensuring that despite international tensions, the daily needs of the frontier population are fully protected and prioritized by both the central and UT administrations.
