Nityanand Rai Flags Off Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2026 for Maritime Security Awareness
NEW DELHI | Wednesday, January 28, 2026 :- Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai virtually flagged off the Vande Mataram CISF Coastal Cyclothon–2026 at 07:30 AM today from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.
This nationwide initiative, organized by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), officially commenced with simultaneous starts from Lakhpat Fort in Gujarat and Bakkhali in West Bengal.
The ambitious journey is set to traverse over 6,500 km along India’s coastline, concluding in Kochi, Kerala, on February 21, 2026, with a formal closing ceremony scheduled for the following day.
The expedition features 130 CISF cyclists dedicated to raising public awareness regarding the critical importance of coastal security. By engaging directly with coastal communities, the initiative seeks to promote inclusivity, resilience, and a shared sense of national responsibility toward maritime safety.
The event serves as a high-profile platform to highlight the vital role of security forces and local citizens in safeguarding the country’s vast maritime borders while fostering a spirit of adventure and national unity.
