Nine CRPF Personnel Injured as Vehicle Skids into Canal in Srinagar’s Ahmad Nagar
SRINAGAR, JAMMU & KASHMIR, Feb 21, 2026 — Nine jawans of the 21 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured on Saturday after their Bullet-Proof (BP) bunker vehicle met with an accident in the Ahmad Nagar area of Srinagar.
The incident took place on the Umar Heir Dagpora Road when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to skid off the roadway and plunge into a roadside water canal. Local authorities and emergency teams acted swiftly to evacuate the personnel from the partially submerged vehicle and transport them to the hospital for urgent medical intervention.
The injured personnel, all stationed at the Dagpora camp, have been identified as Naginder Singh (36), Ajit Kumar Ram (36), Raj Kishore Rai (40), Amit Kumar Yadav (38), Rajdhan Ram (55), Mankar Kumar (40), Neeraj Kumar (45), Shubash Kumar (40), and Dilip Kumar (35).
They are currently receiving treatment at the SKIMS Soura medical facility. According to hospital sources, while some personnel sustained multiple injuries due to the impact, all nine are reported to be in stable condition.
An investigation into the exact cause of the accident is currently underway by the local police.
