NHAI Invites Applications for Independent Road Safety Experts to Boost National Highway Safety Standards

NEW DELHI, March 17, 2026 — The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially opened applications for the empanelment of Independent Road Safety Experts, a strategic move aimed at reinforcing safety protocols across the country’s vast National Highway network.

The authority is seeking qualified professionals for the critical roles of Senior Road Safety Auditor & Team Leader, as well as Road Safety Assistant.

These experts will be tasked with conducting comprehensive road safety audits, identifying potential hazards, and providing technical support to ensure that all highway projects adhere to the highest international safety standards.

By integrating independent oversight into the project lifecycle, NHAI aims to significantly reduce road accidents and enhance the overall transit experience for commuters.

This empanelment drive is part of a broader mission to strengthen the structural and operational safety of existing and upcoming highway corridors. Eligible candidates with expertise in civil engineering, traffic management, and safety auditing are encouraged to apply before the closing deadline of April 07, 2026.

The selected professionals will play a pivotal role in the “Safety First” initiative, helping to implement data-driven safety measures and audit-led improvements across various state and national projects.
