JAMMU, DECEMBER 22: To bolster public safety and modernize emergency services, a comprehensive awareness programme on the Next Generation Emergency Response Support System (NG ERSS-2.0) was held today in the Jammu Zone.
Chaired by Bim Sen Tuti, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, the session at the Police Control Room (PCR) Jammu brought together Range DIsG, district SSsP, and PCR incharges to discuss the system’s integration following its official launch on December 16, 2025. During the event, Shailesh Porwal from CDAC delivered a technical presentation highlighting how the upgraded Dial 112 platform utilizes cutting-edge technology to ensure swifter and more citizen-centric responses. The IGP emphasized that adopting these advanced frameworks is vital for police modernization, aiming to sensitize district-level functionaries on the enhanced capabilities of the NG ERSS to ensure seamless and efficient service delivery to the public during emergencies.
