New Oxygen Plant Boosts Healthcare in Remote Upper Subansiri, Arunachal Pradesh

DAPORIJO, ARUNACHAL PRADESH — March 27, 2026:-In a significant move to strengthen medical infrastructure in India’s frontier regions, Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Oxygen Generation Plant and Refilling Centre at the Subansiri Healers Field Hospital in Upper Subansiri, Arunachal Pradesh.

This vital facility was established through a strategic collaboration with the Soldiers Independent Rehabilitation Foundation (SIRF), based in Pune. Designed to produce high-quality medical-grade oxygen, the plant is set to bridge a critical gap in emergency care for the remote district, ensuring that both military personnel and local communities have immediate access to life-saving resources.

The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to “Healing in the Heights,” bringing advanced healthcare solutions to the most challenging terrains of the Northeast.
