Naval Station Karanja Expands Healthcare Infrastructure: Phase II of INHS Sandhani Inaugurated
KARANJA, Jan 23, 2026 — Strengthening the medical backbone of the Indian Navy, Naval Station Karanja marked a pivotal milestone with the inauguration of the Phase II building of INHS Sandhani.
The ceremony, held on January 22, 2026, was presided over by Surg RAdm KM Adhikari, Command Medical Officer (CMO) of the Western Naval Command (WNC).
As the youngest hospital within the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), this expansion signifies a rapid evolution in the facility’s ability to serve the naval community.The newly inaugurated state-of-the-art facility is a strategic leap forward in enhancing Naval medical infrastructure.
By integrating modern diagnostic and treatment capabilities, the Phase II expansion is set to drastically improve patient care delivery and recovery outcomes.
