LUCKNOW, DECEMBER 25, 2025: Marking the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The Prime Minister described the site as a landmark of inspiration that symbolizes India’s journey toward self-respect, unity, and service.
Developed at a cost of approximately ₹230 crore across 65 acres, the complex features 65-foot bronze statues of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Modi highlighted that the site—once a 30-acre landfill—has been transformed in just three years into a state-of-the-art memorial. He emphasized that the “Sabka Prayas” (collective effort) reflected in this project is essential to achieving the goal of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047.
During his address, the Prime Minister noted that December 25 is a significant date as it coincides with the birth anniversaries of two Bharat Ratna awardees, Malaviya and Vajpayee, as well as the legacy of Maharaja Bijli Pasi. Modi used the platform to highlight his government’s commitment to Antyodaya (serving the last person), stating that governance has reached a level of “saturation” where welfare schemes like free rations, housing, and medical treatment are provided without discrimination.
He lauded the progress of Uttar Pradesh, noting its transition from being known for poor law and order to becoming a hub for development, expressways, and defense manufacturing, including the production of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow. The Prime Minister also reflected on the broader mission of his administration to honor every “immortal child of Mother India,” moving away from the past trend of glorifying only a single family.
He cited the installation of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s statue at Kartavya Path and the creation of the Statue of Unity for Sardar Patel as examples of this shift. Highlighting Vajpayee’s role as the architect of modern connectivity and digital identity, Modi noted that the foundation laid by the former Prime Minister for the telecom revolution and the Golden Quadrilateral highway project is now being expanded at an unprecedented scale.
He concluded by affirming that the Rashtra Prerna Sthal would serve as a source of cultural consciousness and selfless leadership for future generations.
