Mughal road, SSG road, and Sinthan road open as per advisory; Jammu-Srinagar highway remains closed

Srinagar 30 August :- In the latest traffic update issued by Jammu and Kashmir Traffic authorities have confirmed that vehicular movement is currently operational on Mughal Road, SSG Road, and Sinthan Road in accordance with the issued advisory. Commuters using these routes are strongly advised to adhere to strict lane discipline, as irresponsible overtaking is likely to cause significant congestion and delays.

However, in a crucial development for inter-regional travel, the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NHW) remains closed for traffic. Officials have explicitly advised the public against undertaking any journey on this highway until restoration work is fully completed and the road surface is deemed completely safe and traffic-worthy.

The advisory also includes a stern warning, urging people not to pay heed to unverified rumors regarding the highway’s status and to rely only on official information channels for updates. The closure underscores ongoing challenges following adverse weather conditions, with efforts focused on ensuring the thorough repair of the vital arterial road before it is reopened to the public.
