Srinagar 17 December :- Patients and medical staff at Government SMHS Hospital and the Super Speciality Hospital, Shireen Bagh, can expect a return to normal operations as MRI services are officially set to resume on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The Administrator of Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar announced that the temporary suspension of these diagnostic services has concluded following the successful completion of essential equipment maintenance.
The maintenance involved a technical process known as “de-icing” the magnet, a critical procedure performed to ensure the MRI machines maintain optimal performance and function without interruption.
By completing this scheduled upkeep, the hospital aims to provide more reliable and high-quality imaging for the long term. This resumption offers significant relief to the public, as vital investigations will once again be conducted on-site, ensuring the continuity of healthcare and reducing the need for patients to seek diagnostic services elsewhere.
