Mithun Manhas first J&K Born becomes BCCI President in 2025 General Elections; All Key Posts Declared Uncontested

New Delhi, 28 September : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the results of its 2025 General Elections, with all key posts declared uncontested. Following the election schedule issued on September 6, eligible members submitted their nominations, which were scrutinized and finalized in a structured process. Since only one candidate was validly nominated for each post, no polling was required.

The election process began with the publication of the draft electoral roll on September 13, followed by a window for objections until September 15. After reviewing objections, the final electoral roll was published on September 19. Members were then invited to submit nominations for the available posts from September 20 to 21, which were scrutinized on September 22. Candidates had an opportunity to withdraw by September 23, but no withdrawals were received.

President: Mithun Manhas – Former Indian cricketer and domestic cricket stalwart, Manhas now takes charge of India’s premier cricket body ,Vice-President: Rajeev Shukla ,Secretary: Devajit Saikia, Joint Secretary: Prabhtej Singh Bhatia,Treasurer: A Raghuram Bhat

Apex Council: Member: Jaydev Niranjan Shah

Governing Council:Members: Arun Singh Dhumal, M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar

The Electoral Officer confirmed that all nominations were valid, making the election uncontested. Mithun Manhas is expected to focus on strengthening grassroots cricket, enhancing player welfare, and improving infrastructure across the country. Experts believe his leadership could bring strategic reforms to domestic cricket and promote a balanced approach toward India’s international and local cricket priorities.
