JAMMU, January 30, 2026 – Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and IT, Satish Sharma, presided over the Rashtriya Dogri Kavi Sammelan today, a prestigious literary event organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) at Abhinav Theatre.
Held as a highlight of the Republic Day 2026 celebrations and commemorating 150 years of “Vande Mataram,” the symposium brought together renowned Dogri poets and Padma awardees to celebrate India’s linguistic diversity.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sharma described regional dialects as the “soul” of the nation’s heritage, emphasizing that the preservation of the Dogri language is essential for maintaining the cultural identity and social harmony of the Jammu region.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting indigenous languages through digital integration, institutional support, and youth-centric initiatives, asserting that cultural nurturing must keep pace with technological progress.
He lauded the JKAACL for its efforts in providing a national platform for local talent and encouraged young writers to remain rooted in their linguistic heritage. The evening featured powerful poetic recitations centered on patriotism and unity, serving as a reminder of literature’s role as a tool for social transformation and national integration.
