UDHAMPUR, January 10, 2026: Minister for Education, Health, and Social Welfare, Sakeena Itoo, conducted a significant tour of the remote Tehsil Panchari today, where she presided over the medal ceremony of the 6th ISKOI India Karate Championship–2025.
Held at Government Higher Secondary School, Panchari, the Minister felicitated 47 young achievers, many of whom were girls from far-flung areas who overcame geographical hurdles to excel in the sport.
Lauding their discipline and resilience, the Minister emphasized that the success of these athletes proves talent knows no boundaries.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing rural sports talent, presenting trophies, school bags, and umbrellas under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative to encourage further excellence.
Beyond the sporting event, Minister Itoo engaged in a comprehensive public outreach program, meeting with DDC members, former PRI representatives, and local residents to address pressing developmental grievances.
Responding to concerns over local infrastructure, she announced that the Director of Health Services, Jammu, has been tasked with drafting a holistic plan to upgrade PHC Panchari and resolve staff shortages.
The Minister also highlighted the government’s intent to tap into the vast tourism potential of the Panchari region to drive economic growth.
Reaffirming the vision of the Omar Abdullah-led government, she assured that strengthening road connectivity and ensuring essential services at the doorsteps of citizens remains a top priority for the administration.
