JAMMU, Jan 3: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, inaugurated a community langar today at the historic Bahu Fort. During his visit, the Minister interacted with devotees and pilgrims at the revered Kali Mata Temple, commonly known as Bawey Wali Mata, to assess the quality of facilities and ensure the comfort of visitors.
Rana conducted a comprehensive tour of the temple and fort premises, accompanied by senior engineering staff and district officials, to review critical infrastructure including sanitation, clean drinking water access, and general maintenance.
Emphasizing the Omar Abdullah government’s commitment to promoting religious tourism, Rana underscored the need for a systematic beautification plan for the Bahu Fort area. He stated that the administration is focused on enhancing civic amenities and aesthetic appeal to improve the experience for the thousands of tourists who visit the site weekly.
By addressing long-standing infrastructure bottlenecks and coordinating with various departments for timely upgrades, the Minister reiterated that Bahu Fort will be developed into a premier religious tourism destination while strictly preserving its significant historical and cultural heritage.
