Minister Javed Rana Reviews Mendhar Development Projects; Orders Timely Completion and Quality Oversight
JAMMU, February 22, 2026 — Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, chaired a high-level virtual review meeting today to evaluate the progress of essential infrastructure projects currently underway in the Mendhar region.
During the session, which included senior officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Chief Engineer of PW (R&B) Pir Panjal, the Minister conducted a comprehensive appraisal of diverse initiatives, including EMRS infrastructure, drainage systems in Mendhar Town, and critical road projects funded under the UT Capex Budget, NABARD, and SASCI.Emphasizing the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, Minister Rana issued strict directives to expedite the pace of execution, particularly for road connectivity projects in remote and border areas.
He stressed that maintaining high-quality standards is non-negotiable and instructed officers to proactively resolve any existing bottlenecks that might delay project timelines. To ensure transparency and adherence to schedules, the Minister mandated rigorous field-level monitoring and the submission of regular progress reports, reiterating that the timely completion of these works is vital for addressing the immediate concerns of the local population and upgrading the region’s overall infrastructure.
