Minga Sherpa Takes Charge as Deputy Commissioner Udhampur; Outlines Vision for District Development

UDHAMPUR February 26, 2026 — In a significant administrative transition, Minga Sherpa officially assumed the role of Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Udhampur today, taking over the reins from outgoing officer Saloni Rai.

The handover ceremony was attended by a cohort of senior district officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan, and Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh. Upon taking charge, DC Minga Sherpa immediately signaled a focus on administrative efficiency, holding an introductory session with sectoral heads to emphasize the necessity of transparent governance and the swift delivery of public services to ensure the district’s continued growth.
