Military-Civil Liaison Conference Held in Jorhat to Boost Operational Preparedness and Inter-Agency Synergy

JORHAT, ASSAM, Feb 21, 2026 — Strengthening the bond between defense forces and local governance, the Eastern Command conducted a high-level Military-Civil Liaison Conference (CMLC) at the Jorhat Military Station on February 19, 2026.

Chaired by Maj Gen Deepak Sharma, General Officer Commanding (GOC), HQ 41 Sub Area, the summit served as a strategic platform to enhance inter-agency jointness and streamline administrative coordination across Upper Assam.

The discussions prioritized synchronized efforts in operational preparedness and specialized training to ensure a cohesive response to regional security and logistical challenges.

During the conference, Maj Gen Sharma engaged in detailed interactions with key civil authorities, including District Collectors and Superintendents of Police from four districts of Upper Assam, alongside CRPF Commandants and representatives from the Jorhat Development Authority.

By addressing critical touchpoints between military requirements and civil administration, the meeting aimed to foster a unified approach toward national security and local development.
