MET Srinagar Forecasts Weather Improvement as Heavy Snowfall Subsides Across J&K
SRINAGAR, JANUARY 27, 2026 — The Meteorological (MET) Department in Srinagar has issued an update stating that the intense weather activity across Jammu and Kashmir is expected to decrease starting late this evening.
Following a period of widespread light to moderate rain and snow, with several locations reporting heavy accumulation, the department predicts a significant improvement in conditions tonight.
While the active Western Disturbance caused temporary disruptions to air and surface traffic earlier today, the latest forecast suggests that the peak of the storm has passed, bringing relief to the region as clear skies are expected to emerge in the coming days.
