Srinagar 30 August :- A significant fire broke out in the isolated Tulail area of Gurez, located in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, damaging approximately 20 structures before emergency crews managed to contain it. Officials confirmed the incident on Saturday, highlighting the challenges posed by the village’s remote location.
The blaze erupted in Kashpath Tulail, a border village with limited road access and unreliable telecommunication networks, which severely delayed the initial reporting and coordination of the emergency response.Firefighters from the local Fire Station Tulail were first on the scene, deploying water tenders and utilizing a nearby water source to combat the rapidly spreading flames.
As the fire grew, reinforcements were dispatched from Fire Station Dawar in Gurez under the directive of Bandipora authorities. After tireless efforts, the combined teams successfully brought the fire under control, preventing it from spreading to adjacent homes. While the fire has been contained, authorities are still working to determine the cause of the blaze, the exact extent of property damage, and whether there were any casualties or injuries.
