Massive crackdown on Illegal mining in Budgam, 2 FIR’s Registered 24 Vehicles Seized

Budgam, 27 September :- As part of its continued drive against illegal mining, Budgam Police have intensified operations across the district, registering 02 FIRs and seizing 24 vehicles in the past two weeks.The seized vehicles include 09 tippers, 10 tractors, 03 JCBs, and 02 LNT machines, impounded from Beerwah, Soibugh, Magam, Hard Panzoo, Khag and Humhama.

In coordination with the Mineral Department, fines worth several thousands have also been imposed on violators involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.Budgam Police urged the public to cooperate by reporting such activities, stressing that community participation is vital to curb this menace.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to safeguard natural resources, enforce legal mining practices, and preserve the ecological balance of the district.
