Manoj Sinha Urges IRMS Officers to Build Tech-Driven Railway Infrastructure for a Developed India

JAMMU, JANUARY 27, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held a high-level interaction with Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS) officer trainees today, characterizing the rail network as the “circulatory system of India’s aspirations.”

Speaking at Lok Bhavan, Sinha emphasized that modern railways must move beyond traditional tracks to become a technology-inspired powerhouse that drives economic expansion and social cohesion.

He urged the young officers to leverage scientific data analysis to revolutionize service delivery, noting that intelligence-driven approaches are essential for accurate demand forecasting, optimized resource allocation, and significantly reducing accident risks.

During the session, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the critical need for a multimodal logistics network that integrates rail with road and other transport modes to meet the demands of an expanding economy. He pointed out that dedicated freight corridors and integrated digital platforms are the keys to making transport faster and more competitive, which in turn reduces costs for industries.

Calling on the trainees to keep national interest at the forefront of every decision, Sinha remarked that smart technology will reimagine Indian Railways as a passenger-first mobility leader for the 21st century. He concluded by challenging the officers to ensure that every file and order they process serves the ultimate goal of building a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
