Manoj Sinha Reviews 100-Day Intensive Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan Campaign
JAMMU, April 09, 2026:- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting on Thursday to finalize the preparedness for an upcoming 100-day intensive campaign under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan.
Designed to eradicate drug abuse across the Union Territory, the initiative will feature high-impact awareness programs, beginning with a mega Padyatra flagged off by Manoj Sinha from MA Stadium, Jammu, on April 11, 2026.A similar large-scale launch is scheduled for Srinagar in the first week of May.
During the meeting, Manoj Sinha emphasized that the influx of narcotics is part of a larger international conspiracy targeting the youth and called for a “Jan Andolan” (people’s movement) involving students, NCC, NSS, volunteers, civil society, and political representatives to maximize outreach.
The Lieutenant Governor reiterated a strict policy of “Don’t Touch the Innocent and Don’t Spare the Culprit,” directing law enforcement to dismantle trafficking networks while focusing on the rehabilitation of victims. To ensure effective implementation, UT and Divisional Level Committees have been established to oversee a department-wise activity calendar.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Special DG Coordination S.J.M Gillani, Principal Secretary Home Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor Mandeep K. Bhandari, Commissioner Secretary of Social Welfare Department Sarmad Hafeez, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, and IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi, alongside various Deputy Commissioners and SSPs.
Manoj Sinha urged the integration of public feedback and encouraged citizens to actively report drug abuse cases to ensure the campaign’s long-term success.
