Major Blow to DPAP as Senior Leader Kulwant Singh Joins BJP with 200 Supporters in Jammu


JAMMU, January 15, 2026: In a significant political development, prominent activist and former Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) General Secretary, Kulwant Singh, officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today along with over 200 supporters.

The joining ceremony, held at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, was led by J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA), alongside General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul and other senior leaders.

The event, organized by MLA Surinder Bhagat and Dr. Ali Mohammad Mir, saw a large number of ex-servicemen and local leaders, including Ranjeet Singh and Ghar Singh, switch their allegiance to the saffron party, signaling a shift in the regional political landscape.


Welcoming the new entrants, Sat Sharma emphasized that the arrival of a disciplined ex-serviceman like Kulwant Singh reflects the public’s growing confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He noted that Singh’s grassroots connection would significantly bolster the party’s social outreach and organizational strength in the region.

Ashok Koul added that the BJP remains a platform for those committed to nationalism and inclusive development, highlighting that the Modi government’s focus on transparent governance continues to attract dedicated social workers.

Expressing his gratitude, Kulwant Singh stated that he was inspired by the Prime Minister’s decisive leadership and pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the BJP’s mission of nation-building at the local level.
