Lunar Eclipse 2025 Live: Year’s Final Chandra Grahan Today; Check Timings, Sutak, and Global Visibility

Jammu 07 September:- The last total lunar eclipse of 2025 is set to occur today, on September 7, visible in its entirety across India from 9:58 PM to 1:26 AM. This astronomical event holds significant religious importance as it coincides with the beginning of Pitru Paksha, a 16-day period dedicated to honoring ancestors. Since the eclipse is visible in India, the Sutak period, considered an inauspicious time in Vedic astrology, will be observed.

It is scheduled to begin 9 hours prior to the eclipse, at 12:57 PM on Sunday. During Sutak, auspicious activities are avoided as it is believed negative energies are heightened due to the influence of shadow planets Rahu and Ketu on the Moon.

Astrologically, this eclipse in the Aquarius sign and Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra is predicted to bring social and mental transformations. While Jupiter’s aspect is seen as a protective shield, potential impacts include social unrest in regions like West India, Bengal, and Andhra Pradesh, as well as inflation, disease spread, and geopolitical tensions.

Conversely, it may benefit agriculture with balanced rain and fertile soil. Pregnant women are advised to take extra precautions due to risks of mental instability and fatigue. The eclipse will be visible across most of Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa, and partially in parts of North and South America.

Scientifically, a lunar eclipse is a natural celestial phenomenon where the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting its shadow on the lunar surface.
