Udhampur 25 September : Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Northern Command Army Commander, carried out detailed review of the security scenario and the efficiency of the counter-terror grid in Basantgarh, Udhampur.
On his visit, the Army Commander was briefed extensively on the changing operation scenario with a focus on the emerging challenges and dynamic threats that have to be addressed promptly in the region. He met the field units and command staff and exchanged views with them on the strategic changes in operational procedures aimed at countering changing tactics used by anti-national forces.
Speaking to the troops, Lt Gen Sharma praised their unflinching dedication to duty and stressed the quintessential need to be at the highest level of operational preparedness at all times. He re-emphasized that constant alertness, responding to changing situations, and a focused response in counter-terror operations are essential for securing the peace and stability of the region.
