VARANASI, February 12, 2026 — In a move to bolster operational readiness and veteran support, Lieutenant General HS Vandra, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Madhya Bharat Area, conducted a high-level visit to the 39 Gorkha Training Centre and Varanasi Military Station.
The visit centered on a comprehensive audit of administrative frameworks, infrastructure development, and the robustness of existing welfare schemes.During his tour, Lt Gen Vandra inspected critical facilities including the ECHS Polyclinic, the Military Hospital, and Army Public School. He also visited the local Sanitation Park to evaluate hygiene and sustainability initiatives.
By engaging directly with these departments, the GOC gained firsthand insights into the efficacy of healthcare delivery and the quality of educational standards provided to the military community.
A significant portion of the visit was dedicated to the Ex-Servicemen (ESM) community. Lt Gen Vandra interacted extensively with veterans, addressing their specific concerns and welfare requirements.
