JABALPUR, February 02, 2026: In a significant leadership transition for the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Harbinder Singh Vandra, AVSM, SM, officially took over as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Madhya Bharat Area (MBArea) on February 1, 2026.
Assuming the reins at the headquarters in Jabalpur, the General Officer was received with traditional military honors before outlining his strategic vision for the formation.
Under the theme “Leadership with Resolve, Readiness for the Future,” Lt Gen Vandra emphasized the critical imperatives of maintaining high operational effectiveness and implementing focused training regimens to stay ahead of evolving security landscapes.
He further highlighted that troop welfare and administrative efficiency would remain top priorities during his tenure, aiming to bolster the overall strength of the Madhya Bharat Area while ensuring the formation remains prepared to meet future challenges with unwavering determination and professional excellence.
