JALANDHAR, APRIL 02: In a significant transition of military leadership, Lt Gen Amit Kabthiyal, YSM, SM, has officially taken over the command of the prestigious Vajra Corps, famously known as the ‘Defenders of Punjab,’ succeeding Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM.
Upon assuming his new role, the Corps Commander visited the Vajra Shaurya Sthal to lay a wreath and pay solemn homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.

His extensive operational portfolio includes pivotal roles in Counter-Insurgency (CI) operations, assignments along the Line of Control (LC), and active participation in major missions such as Operations Rakshak, Vijay, and Parakram.
With a career further enriched by key command, staff, and international tenures, the General’s decisive leadership is expected to provide a steady hand for the “Thunderbolt” division.
