Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar Reviews Operational Readiness and Technological Advancements in Arunachal Pradesh

SIGAR, ARUNACHAL PRADESH – March 24, 2026Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational preparedness of the Spearhead Gunners during a high-profile visit to Sigar, Arunachal Pradesh. The visit underscored the Indian Army’s strategic focus on the eastern frontier, as the GOC assessed the combat readiness and tactical efficiency of the artillery units stationed in the region.

During his interaction with the troops, the General emphasized the importance of maintaining a high state of vigilance and readiness to meet any security challenges in the high-altitude terrain.As part of his tour, Lt Gen Pendharkar visited key specialized facilities, including Droneshala, the Language School, and the Fixed Wing Drone Integrated Repair Lab.

These visits highlighted the Spear Corps’ commitment to modernizing warfare through localized technical support and linguistic proficiency for better regional integration.

The inspection of the drone repair lab, in particular, showcased the Army’s push toward self-reliance in maintaining advanced aerial surveillance assets at the forward edge of the battlefield.
