LPG Black Marketing Crackdown: Minister Satish Sharma Leads High-Intensity Market Inspections from Katra to Jammu
JAMMU, MARCH 19, 2026 — In a major push for consumer protection and supply chain transparency, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Satish Sharma, spearheaded an extensive market checking drive today, stretching from Katra to Jammu.
The high-intensity operation focused primarily on the distribution, availability, and pricing of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). During the surprise inspections, the Minister personally audited LPG godowns, retail outlets, and distribution records to ensure that booking and delivery systems align with government norms.
By interacting directly with delivery personnel and consumers, the Minister gathered first-hand feedback to identify gaps in service delivery and prevent the exploitation of the public through artificial scarcity or overcharging.Reinforcing the government’s “Zero Tolerance” policy, Minister Sharma issued a stern warning against hoarding, black marketing, and any form of price manipulation.
He emphasized that there would be “no atonement” for violators, regardless of whether they are distributors, delivery agents, or intermediaries. To maintain this momentum, the Minister directed FCS&CA department officers to intensify similar drives across all districts, mandate real-time reporting, and coordinate closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure market discipline.
Assuring the public of adequate LPG stocks, the Minister urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any instances of service denial or illegal pricing, promising swift punitive action against offenders to safeguard the interests of every household.
