Low-Danger Avalanche Warning Issued for Five Jammu and Kashmir Districts Following Heavy Snowfall
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 24: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have issued a low-danger avalanche warning for five districts on Wednesday following a period of moderate to heavy snowfall across the Union Territory’s higher reaches.
According to official reports, the warning is specifically directed at the districts of Doda, Ganderbal, Kishtwar, Poonch, and Ramban, with the potential for avalanches to occur at altitudes exceeding 2,800 metres over the next 24 hours. Residents and travelers in these high-altitude regions have been strongly advised to avoid avalanche-prone slopes and strictly adhere to official safety advisories issued by the disaster management authorities.
The recent weather patterns have left a significant snow accumulation in the mountainous areas, prompting this proactive measure to ensure public safety and minimize risks in the vulnerable zones.
