LoP Sunil Sharma visited Landslide hit Thard on NH 44
UDHAMPUR 07 September : Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and MLA from Padder-Nagseni, Sunil Sharma, conducted an urgent on-site inspection of the severely damaged Thard (Balli Nallah) stretch of the National Highway in Udhampur on Sunday.
The critical road connecting Thard towards Balli Nallah has been completely came under the Debris of Landslides due to recent heavy rains and flash floods, leaving a significant number of passengers stranded at the spot.
Upon assessing the situation, Sharma immediately assured the stranded individuals that all possible help would be provided to them on a priority basis. He informed that a coordinated effort is already underway, with the Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA from Chenani, National Highway authorities, the District Administration, and Police personnel present on the ground working tirelessly to restore connectivity and ensure public safety.
“Our immediate focus remains on rescue, relief, and restoration so that normal life is brought back at the earliest,” Sharma stressed, highlighting the administration’s primary objectives in managing the crisis.
