LG Sinha Flags Off First Dedicated Parcel Train from Budgam to Delhi, Boosting Valley’s Apple Economy

Srinagar 15 September :- In a landmark move for the agricultural economy of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first dedicated parcel train from Budgam’s railway station to Adarsh Nagar in Delhi on Thursday.

This new freight service is set to revolutionize the supply chain for the Union Territory’s famed apple growers, providing them with a fast, reliable, and efficient means to transport their produce to major markets across the country.

Hailing the initiative, LG Sinha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ushering in a new era of trade and business for the valley’s growers and traders.

He stated that the service will significantly reduce transit time, curtail logistical costs, and open up immense income opportunities for thousands of farmers, thereby giving a substantial boost to the region’s agricultural economy.
