LG Manoj Sinha Releases ‘Mehsoos’ in Srinagar; Calls for Social Awakening through Five Resolutions

SRINAGAR, MARCH 14, 2026: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha officially released the book “Mehsoos-Stories of Social Transformation” today at the DIPR Auditorium in Srinagar. The publication chronicles the grassroots efforts and selfless service of volunteers from Sewa Bharti J&K and the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India.

Speaking at the event, the Lieutenant Governor described the book as an inspiring collection of chronicles that document the dedication and sacrifices made to transform local communities. He expressed his desire for these narratives to reach beyond the borders of Jammu Kashmir to ignite a spirit of volunteerism across the entire nation, emphasizing that the region’s future is being shaped by its natural abundance, dynamic youth, and service-driven citizenry.

The Lieutenant Governor urged the public to engage in deep introspection regarding their personal contributions to society, asking citizens to consider the legacy and inheritance they wish to leave for future generations.

He maintained that a prosperous Jammu Kashmir should be defined by the quality of life cherished by its people rather than economic metrics alone.

Asserting that great futures are forged through collective endeavor and resolve, he noted that society requires the same nurturing care as nature, marking the current period as the dawn of a broader social awakening in the Union Territory.

To guide this transformation, the Lieutenant Governor outlined five key resolutions: Social Harmony, Family Awakening, Environmental Stewardship, Civic Duty, and Self-Reliance. He called for mutual respect across all faiths and cultures to bridge generational gaps and urged families to root themselves in core values to empower the next generation.

Addressing environmental concerns, he reminded citizens that they are custodians of a unique natural heritage and must prioritize sustainable development. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of active civic participation in a robust democracy and the need for self-reliance to build economic capacity.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Rakesh Kumar Jha, President of Sewa Bharti J&K; Suman Dhir, President of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation; and several other office bearers and volunteers. Also in attendance were Rajiv Pandey, DIG CKR; Akshay Labroo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar; and various senior officials and prominent citizens.

The Lieutenant Governor concluded by stating that these five resolutions serve as a collective mandate to ensure the robust socio-economic growth of Jammu Kashmir as a leading Union Territory.
