LG Manoj Sinha Issues Job Letters to Terror Victims, Vows to Dismantle Terror Ecosystem

JAMMU, MARCH 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters to 37 next of kin of terror victims and 29 family members of government employees who died in service during a ceremony at the Convention Centre in Jammu on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir has reached a decisive turning point where the youth and victimized families aspire for a bright future. He pledged a full commitment to securing dignified lives for these families, asserting that justice extends beyond mere punishment to include the healing of wounds and the restoration of social honor.

Under the Jammu & Kashmir Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme-2022 and SRO 43, these appointments signify a shift toward correcting decades of neglect and ensuring economic stability for those who suffered at the hands of militants. The Lieutenant Governor issued a stern warning to “conflict entrepreneurs” and the remaining elements of the terror ecosystem, declaring that their era of influence has ended.

He noted that the shields once provided to terror elements by certain sectors of society are crumbling, and there are no longer any safe havens for terrorists or their support networks in the Union Territory.

Highlighting a “new moral declaration” for Jammu and Kashmir, he stated that those who infiltrated government machinery in the past to support terrorism will be systematically identified, removed from their positions, and punished according to the law.

This policy of dismissing those linked to terror while providing jobs to victims is intended as a clear message that the new administrative order will prioritize the dignity of victims over the protection of perpetrators.

Reflecting on the past, the Lieutenant Governor described the historical neglect of terror victims as a “civilizational failure” and a collapse of social morality. He questioned how previous systems allowed victims to become a burden while those linked to terror often became beneficiaries.

By rewriting the stories of these forgotten families with honor, the administration aims to build a system that defines justice through concrete deeds rather than just words.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including Principal Secretary Mandeep K. Bhandari and Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, alongside members of various social organizations and the families of the victims.
