LG Manoj Sinha Inspires Youth at Samba: “Dream Big and Lead the Transformation of Jammu & Kashmir”

JAMMU, JANUARY 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today called upon the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to dream big, aim high, and pursue their goals with unwavering courage and resolve during the 7th Annual Day Celebration of the Guidance & Career Counselling Cell for Youth Development (GCC) at Gurha Slathia, Samba.

Addressing a large gathering, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that young people are the “greatest power of today” and urged them to take a pledge to build a brighter Union Territory and nation by working with dedication and patience. He noted that history remembers those who dare to challenge limits and conquer fear, stating that small, daily steps toward one’s dreams will eventually lead to a grand transformation of society.

Highlighting innovation and entrepreneurship as the keys to progress, LG Sinha encouraged the youth to embrace fresh ideas to solve problems and pursue self-employment as a driver for economic empowerment.

Beyond youth development, the Lieutenant Governor reiterated the government’s firm commitment to rehabilitating families affected by recent natural calamities, announcing a comprehensive allocation of ₹1,437 crore approved by the Government of India for disaster mitigation and infrastructure reconstruction.

He provided a specific timeline for restoration, stating that damaged railway bridges would be restored within three months and flood-affected stretches of national highways would be completed within four months.

Responding to local needs, he assured the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Samba that the construction of a railway over-bridge would be prioritized with railway officials. The event, attended by senior officials and prominent personalities, also included a review of local development projects, where the LG directed officials to ensure proper sanitation and sports facilities at the Government Higher Secondary School in Gurha Slathia.
