LG Manoj Sinha Inaugurates Jammu Kashmir Cultural Festival; Calls for Youth to Lead Global Renaissance

JAMMU, MARCH 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the Jammu Kashmir Cultural Festival, organized by the Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan Trust, emphasizing that the region’s spiritual and cultural treasures are foundational to a brighter global future.

Speaking in the presence of Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, the Lieutenant Governor lauded Jammu’s rich traditions—from Dogri folk songs to soul-infused crafts—as vibrant legacies that breathe new life into the Union Territory’s identity.

He noted that the festival serves as a vital platform to preserve folk arts and spiritual foundations while honoring the “hands that nourish the soul” through integrated farmer awareness programs and traditional performances.

Addressing the youth, LG Sinha characterized the current era as a “renaissance” where India has reclaimed its ancient glory and confidence on the international stage. He urged the younger generation to return to their roots and leverage cultural heritage as a transformative tool for innovation and social harmony.

Highlighting India’s extraordinary progress over the last 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Lieutenant Governor called for a collective effort to empower the knowledge economy.

He remarked that in an era of global strife, India’s philosophy of compassion offers a path to peace, and tasked the nation’s future leaders—engineers, scientists, and innovators—with steering global discourse through both modern technology and timeless values.

The festival, attended by prominent legislators including Sham Lal Sharma and Devyani Rana, featured a multifaceted program including a Kisan Mela, a free medical camp, and cultural exhibitions.

LG Sinha concluded by reiterating that art, spirituality, and ethics are the essential bridges linking generations, urging the community to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood.

The event also saw the felicitation of distinguished individuals for their contributions to society, marking a significant celebration of the Union Territory’s cultural resilience and its evolving role in shaping a modern, innovative India.
