LG Manoj Sinha Inaugurates Goonj 2026 Youth Festival at University of Jammu to Empower Future Leaders

JAMMU, February 27, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha officially inaugurated the vibrant two-day youth festival, “Goonj 2026,” at the University of Jammu, calling upon the younger generation to become bold innovators and balanced thinkers for sustainable national development.

Addressing a massive gathering of students and faculty, Manoj Sinha emphasized that empowered youth serve as the engineers of the future, noting that intellectual depth and innovative leadership are the essential catalysts for national advancement.

He asserted that the true purpose of education extends far beyond the mere acquisition of degrees; rather, it is about creating enlightened citizens who are deeply sensitive to their social duties and courageous enough to drive progress.

During the ceremony, which also saw the launch of the “JU Vaachan” podcast by the Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Manoj Sinha urged faculty members to transform higher education campuses into “manufacturing hubs of new ideas” by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and looking beyond the standard curriculum.

He concluded his address by encouraging students to remain connected to their cultural roots and traditions, stating that such a foundation provides a profound sense of identity and self-awareness that no classroom can fully replicate, ultimately preparing them to forge solutions for a rapidly changing technological world.
