JAMMU JANUARY 16, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the valedictory session of the International Painting Workshop at IIM Jammu on Friday, asserting that the collaboration between artists and GenZ entrepreneurs will forge the future of India.
Organized by the Art Club and “Anandam: The Centre of Happiness,” the event highlighted the unique power generated by an alliance between art and business. The Lieutenant Governor described artists as the “architects of national pride” and the heartbeat of society, noting that the combined energy of creative dreamers and future corporate leaders acts as a new engine for national progress.
During his speech, Manoj Sinha emphasized that creative thinking is essential in the current era of artificial intelligence and machine learning to discover new opportunities. He advocated for art as a vital pillar of interdisciplinary education, stating that it enriches institutions, preserves identity, and fosters a sense of responsibility toward the nation.
The Lieutenant Governor urged business management professionals to remain open to new approaches and learn from diverse experiences to build a vibrant and developed society.
The ceremony concluded with the Lieutenant Governor felicitating both eminent and emerging painters for their contributions to building a stronger future through creativity.
He also commended IIM Jammu for this academic-cultural initiative, which brought together senior officials, heads of educational institutions, and a large number of youth.
Dignitaries in attendance included Director of IIM Jammu B.S. Sahay, former AIIMS Jammu Executive Director Shakti Gupta, and Chairperson of Anandam Shyam Narayan Lal.
