LG Ladakh Addresses Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace; Urges Global Stability Through Dalai Lama’s Teachings

BODH GAYA, April 1, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, addressed the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace today in Bodh Gaya, held to commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the conference brought together representatives from 16 member countries to discuss the role of Buddhist philosophy in mitigating modern geopolitical unrest.

He emphasized that the core principles of peace, non-violence, and compassion are more relevant than ever in navigating today’s global challenges.

During his address, LG Saxena urged international delegates and participants to work collectively to promote the “Path of the Buddha” as a means to foster a new era of global brotherhood, social integrity, and stability.

He pointed to the life and teachings of the Dalai Lama—specifically the concepts of Bodhisattva and Bodhichitta—as essential guiding lights for humanity during times of conflict.

Furthermore, the Lieutenant Governor expressed his confidence that both Ladakh and Bihar, as historic centers of Buddhist learning, will continue to serve as beacons of wisdom, illuminating the world with the timeless message of the Buddha.
