Leh, August 13: In a stirring celebration of patriotism and unity, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, led the vibrant Har Ghar Tiranga rally through the bustling Leh Main Market today. The event, part of the nationwide campaign to honour India’s 79th independence and its heroes, saw an overwhelming response from citizens, local leaders, youth groups, and cultural troupes.
Addressing the gathering, LG Kavinder Gupta underlined that the rally was more than just a symbolic march—it was a call to action. “This is not merely a celebration; it is a national movement to strengthen the spirit of unity and patriotism,” he declared. He urged every household across Ladakh to proudly hoist the Tiranga, ensuring the campaign’s resounding success from the mountains to the coasts.
Paying glowing tributes to legendary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad and revered local hero Abdul Sattar, the Lt Governor lauded their courage and sacrifices that paved the way for a free and self-reliant India. “Their legacy is the bedrock of our nation’s strength,” he said.
The Lt Governor also reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of seeing the Tricolour flying proudly atop every home, symbolising the strength of India’s unity and the vibrancy of its democracy. He said that PM Modi’s vision goes beyond a ceremonial gesture—it is about instilling pride in every Indian, deepening the connection with the nation’s heritage, and inspiring collective responsibility for its future.
“Let the voice of Ladakh resonate across the nation—from the snowy peaks to the southern shores—carrying a message of unwavering unity,” he added.
CEC Leh Tashi Gyaltson, speaking on the occasion, emphasized that the Har Ghar Tiranga rally is a powerful symbol of national unity. “This rally is meant to unify India and strengthen the country through collective patriotic spirit,” he said, urging citizens to embrace the message of togetherness and pride.
Chief Secretary Pawan Kotwal, IAS, reflected on the transformation in public sentiment. “Earlier, we would see very few national flags and limited awareness. Today, the sense of patriotism is strong and visible. Every citizen should feel proud and contribute to making the Har Ghar Tiranga rally a grand success,” he stated.
The rally culminated with participants taking a solemn pledge to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and uphold its democratic ideals. The streets of Leh came alive with the fluttering of the Tricolour and resounding patriotic slogans, painting a powerful portrait of a united India.
