JAMMU, SEPT 3: Heavy rains triggered a landslide at the Sammar Point on the track to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine on Wednesday, officials reported. The incident resulted in no casualties, a fact attributed to the ongoing suspension of the pilgrimage.
As a precautionary measure in response to the adverse weather and continued landslide threats, authorities have also evacuated officials from their accommodations in the area.
The landslide debris has completely blocked the route, and clearance operations are currently underway.The pilgrimage has now been suspended for nine consecutive days, leaving the Katra base camp unusually deserted.
