KATHUA, 20 SEPTEMBER: In an another breakthrough in its drive against the trade of illicit liquor, Kathua police seized approx. 20 Litres of illicit liquor (Desi) alongwith one lady was arrested and seized the illicit liquor (Desi) on spot.
On 19/09/2025 police team led by IC PP Marheen under the guidance of SDPO Border Dheeraj Katoch JKPS and SHO PS Rajbagh Insp. Ajay Chib apprehended one lady namely: Sonia Devi, W/o Late Belu Kumar, R/o Gota Rua, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua.
During checking, the police team recovered 20 litres of illicit liquor from her possession. The accused was immediately taken into custody and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of law for further investigation.
District Police Kathua is committed to eradicate the menace of illicit liquor, which adversely affects the health and socio-economic condition of the society. Strict action under law shall continue against all those indulging in its smuggling, production, and sale.
The general public is appealed to cooperate with Police and share any information regarding such illegal activities, so that society remains drug and liquor abuse free.
