LEH, December 29, 2025: Highlighting a transformative shift in regional governance, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, declared that Ladakh has set a national benchmark in time-bound and transparent recruitment.
Speaking at the District Panchayat Resource Centre in Leh, the LG noted that the declaration of examination results within just 48 hours by the Ladakh Subordinate Services Staff Selection Board (LSSSSB) is a testament to administrative efficiency and robust institutional systems.
During the event, LG Gupta distributed selection letters to provisionally selected candidates from the recent matriculation-level exams and officially launched the Online Ladakh Domicile Certificate Portal, marking a significant leap in digital governance for the Union Territory.
In a poignant address to the newly appointed officials, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that government service should be viewed as a responsibility rather than a privilege. He urged the youth to adopt a “citizen-first” approach and uphold the highest standards of integrity to contribute to the vision of a Viksit Bharat 2047 championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Highlighting the progress made since Ladakh became a Union Territory in 2019, the LG pointed out that the newly established LSSSSB has successfully created a credible recruitment framework that overcomes geographical challenges to deliver merit-based results.
The event also underscored the impact of the new digital portal (https://domicile.ladakh.gov.in), which aims to eliminate bureaucratic delays and simplify procedures for residents.
Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal and Secretary LSSSSB, Dr. Zahida Bano, further detailed the board’s success, noting that out of 377 advertised posts, the swift completion of the matriculation-level recruitment serves as a model for future administrative endeavors.
The ceremony was attended by top administration officials, including Administrative Secretary Moses Kunzang and the Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil, all of whom lauded the efforts to empower Ladakhi youth through fair employment and modernized public services.
