Leh January 16, 2026 — Director General of Police for the Union Territory of Ladakh, Mukesh Singh, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta today at Lok Niwas, Leh.
During the high-level meeting, the DGP provided a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security scenario and the current law and order situation across the region. Singh detailed the strategic priorities of the Ladakh Police, reaffirming the force’s unwavering commitment to maintaining regional peace, ensuring public safety, and enhancing community-oriented policing initiatives throughout the Union Territory.
In response, Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta highlighted the critical need for seamless coordination between various security and administrative agencies to uphold stability and provide a secure environment for both residents and tourists. He lauded the Ladakh Police Department for its proactive efforts and stressed the importance of evolving into a more professional, responsive, and people-friendly force.
