LEH, January 19, 2026: On the eve of the highly anticipated Khelo India Winter Games, Chief Secretary of UT Ladakh Ashish Kundra conducted a comprehensive inspection of the NDS Ice Hockey Rink and the Indoor Stadium today.
With the games scheduled to commence tomorrow, January 20, the visit was aimed at ensuring that all infrastructure and administrative arrangements are in place to host the premier winter sports event.
During his visit, Ashish Kundra scrutinized seating arrangements, rigorous safety protocols, and logistical frameworks essential for the smooth execution of the tournament. Emphasizing the need for a “world-class sporting experience,” the Chief Secretary directed various departments to maintain seamless coordination.
He was accompanied by a high-level team including Romil Singh Donk (Deputy Commissioner, Leh), Moses Kunzang (Secretary, Youth Services and Sports), and representatives from the Ice Hockey Association, who provided detailed briefings on athlete accommodation and spectator management.
The Chief Secretary highlighted that the Khelo India Winter Games serve as a critical platform for fostering a robust sports culture and positioning Ladakh as a global destination for winter sports. He urged all officials to remain committed and vigilant throughout the event to ensure a successful, hassle-free experience for participants and visitors alike.
